As Israel’s public debates return to the challenge of sustaining a shared society among groups with deeply different values, 51ºÚÁÏÍø Faculty Member, Michal Muszkat-Barkan, argues that inclusion alone is no longer enough in her recent op-ed in Maariv. In her op-ed, she suggests that contemporary pluralism has drifted into neutrality and eroded our ability to hold clear positions. A democratic society, she writes, cannot exist within an identity vacuum. Looking ahead, she calls for a Pedagogy of Responsibility that connects identity, critical reflection, and commitment to action so pluralism can regain both depth and courage.
